Civil Service College was pleased to host a high-profile delegation of senior officials from the Shandong Academy of Governance last week. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of providing training in the UK and back in China to those in mid to high level positions within China’s own Civil Service.
The possibility of importing some well-developed training courses back into China, as well as to host international delegations here in the UK was also raised during the course of the meeting.
Shandong Academy hopes to partner with CSC to implement tailor-made, interactive training regarding governance and leadership skills; two of our specialist training areas.
The representatives stated that their interest in joining forces with Civil Service College comes from the high regard that they hold for the UK Civil Service, stating that the UK service was a ‘founding father’. The Academy hopes to build a strong relationship with the UK and to learn from our experience.
Our unique and innovative teaching style was also a particular draw, with the representatives commenting that they liked that we teach in a more personal way, encouraging delegates to think for themselves as well as to absorb knowledge.
The training would be expected to begin in 2017.
