Effective Policy Making
“… the conceptual framework very useful...over all a well-designed, well-delivered course”
Consumer Futures
Policy-making can sometimes feel like a chaotic and overwhelmingly complex process. Poor understanding of the issues, unstructured thinking and not thinking about the bigger picture can lead to unworkable policies and unsatisfactory outcomes. This highly practical course provides a range of approaches, tools and techniques to help policymakers gain confidence, make more effective policies and better support decision-making. It is delivered through a mix of discussion, guidance and practical exercises.
At the Civil Service College, we tailor our courses to each attendee’s role and organisations, ensuring that each participant gets the most out of the training. Our courses and trainers are continuously updated and evaluated to ensure that we are always delivering the best service possible.
This is suitable for anyone who is involved in the policy-making process.
Participants will gain a thorough understanding and experience the reality of policymaking today and what influences it. Using case studies, delegates will be equipped with a “toolkit” of techniques and approaches and understand how these tools can be deployed for maximum impact.
